The rate of cracking depends upon many variables including use, humidity, and, climate, storage, handling, temperature range, and many other factors. We try to select the best quality lumber available, however we cannot be responsible for natural aging and natural variations of wood products. 

If you are very concerned about durability, consider aluminum or poly materials.
